Twenty-Five Years of Counseling Experience
If you are in the Philadelphia/Allentown area, you are welcome to become a new client to the practice. While Dr. Luquet is mainly a couples therapist, he is quite capable and willing to work with individuals and families. Couples sessions typically take place over a 1 1/2 hour time period every other week. Because the work is skills based, the two-weeks between sessions gives couples the opportunity to practice the assigned homework between sessions. The couples work is based on Imago Relationship Therapy. Perspective clients can read about this method of couples work by reading the book Getting the Love You Want: A Guide for Couples by Harville Hendrix. Dr. Luquet has personally trained with Dr. Hendrix, and has collaborated in professional writing assignments with him. Dr. Luquet has also written two professional books on this innovative method of therapy.
Individuals and Families are also welcome to contact Dr. Luquet. He is a Clinical Member and Approved Supervisor for the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy; a member of the Academy for Certified Social Workers; and a Licensed Social Worker in the state of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Luquet is joined in the practice by his wife of 20 years, Marianne Peters Luquet. Ms Luquet received her M.S.W. at Tulane University and a post-masters advanced clinical training certificate in clinical social work from LSU Medical School Department of Psychiatry. She specializes in couples therapy, womens issues, Attention Deficit Disorder, and parenting issues. She has over 20 years experience. Ms. Luquet can be reached at the North Wales office number.
